Nicole & Hooni’s was such a pleasure to shoot. Their families were welcoming, their friends were a blast, and their love for one another was written all over their faces all day long. They held their wedding at the jaw-dropping Cambridge Mill, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint (even with the torrential downpours)!!
Nicole & Hooni met while she was teaching English in Korea. Many of their friends from all over the globe travelled to celebrate their wedding with them, which speaks volumes to the strengths of these friendships. Two of their friends even sang Etta James’ At Last, and I think everyone in the room had chills! Their families were so very respectful of one another, and seeing two cultures come together seamlessly was humbling. It was so interesting and enlightening to be involved in a wedding that incorporated a number of different traditions.
As always, the speeches were my favourite part of the night. There is nothing quite like the loving, heart-felt (and at times hilariously embarrassing) stories about the newlyweds to get everyone laughing. The speeches were full of love and laughter, and the whole night left me feeling giddy.
Thank you so much Nicole and Hooni for having me document your day. It was a true honour, and I hope you will cherish these images for your lifetime.

When Emily contacted me to photograph their wedding, she said it was going to be small, low-key and relaxed. And I was sold. With many mutual friends, I knew she would be an awesome client, and bonus: her and Dillon had an adorable baby boy Landon (and you all know how I feel about babies!).
Now, I know this is a **little** late, but Emily and Dillon, I really hope this brings back some fun memories from your wedding day. The best part about the blog post is getting to relive the moments, so let’s relive it together!
I am currently offering a FREE GIFT to any couples who book a wedding before the end of 2017! If you are engaged, or know someone who is looking for an Ontario Wedding Photographer, get in touch today! You can send me an email straight from my site by clicking here. I would love to hear from you!
Congratulations Emily + Dillon! I hope your first 8 months of marriage have been amazing!
I am so excited to share this amazing couple with you all. When Krista and Mike asked me to document their wedding day and create a wedding film, I was SO nervous, but also so excited. I’ve known Krista since high school, and I knew this wedding was going to be beautiful. This was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, no matter how nervous I was.
In the months leading up I made sure I covered all of my bases. I contacted some other local talent for some direction and equipment (Thanks Ben!!), I reached out to many online friends to learn some new tricks, I studied everything I had learned in my film course last summer and I watched endless wedding films online for inspiration.
As it turns out, studying and practicing can only get you so far. On Krista and Mike’s big day, they had a few unexpected hurdles to overcome. These problems could have been met with stress, anger or even tears, but instead they were met with grace and prayers.
Once of my favourite things about weddings is hearing two people, so in love, dedicate themselves to each other. On this day they are filled with such joy and hope for each other, wanting nothing but the best for their partner and their future. I always come home feeling rejuvenated, and reminded of how important my marriage is, and how important it is for me to continually dedicate myself to my husband and our relationship. Krista and Mike’s wedding was no exception. I was in tears on more than one occasion, and had a big fat smile plastered on my face for the rest of it. I left the estate feeling so full, and blessed to have witnessed their day.
Thank you so much Krista and Mike. For pushing me outside of my comfort zone, for inviting me to take part in your beautiful wedding, and also for reminding me of some of my own vows.

When I arrived at Josh’s parents house on the morning of his wedding, I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed he was. I thought for sure he was going to be the nervous one, but he was as cool as a cucumber. Ashley surprised me by being the one full of butterflies, caught up in the rush of the morning and the busy house. But I will never forget the calm that fell over her after she got in her dress. A quiet moment with just her sister putting on the finishing touches was just what she needed to put it all in perspective. Her “first look” with her mom and bridesmaids got everyone in the mood, and quietly behind me her grandmother cried tears of joy. This was obviously a special day for her, having her granddaughter getting ready in her home filled with photographs of Ashley and her sister and treasures from their childhood.
The day unfolded perfectly as they were surrounded by love and a lot of laughter. Once again the speeches brought me to tears, such beautiful, honest words celebrating not just the newlyweds, but also the other important people in their lives: parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. It was clear to me the value they placed on their family, friends, and each other. Josh praised his new wife’s hard work, and  you know a couple is in it for the long haul when the groom thanks his new wife for all of her support building his new shed!
Honestly, I had a great day with you Josh and Ashley. You are obviously very loved by your friends and families. I can’t wait to see how happy you make each other as your marriage continues. Thank you for allowing me to document Day One.
I knew from the moment Jen contacted me that this wedding would be not only an amazing opportunity, but also a very personal, emotional day. The way she talked about their plans, her vision, and her fiancé, I knew it was going to be incredible. Together they cleaned out a barn, reinforced the floors, built and constructed all of their decor, and incorporated personal touches to every aspect of the day. They included their friends and family in every possible way, including the ceremony, the music, the food and the decor, which gives you a good indication of the amount of love that surrounded them on their wedding day. I teared up multiple times throughout the day, but seeing over and over the way Phil was looking at Jen, made me melt.
Before I get to the pictures, I want to make my case for the “first look”. I was so excited when Phil and Jen said they were going to do a first look, and here is why: The moment a bride and groom see each other for the first time, knowing that today is their day, sharing the first moment of their life together, is very a personal one. It is emotional, raw and fun, and it is a moment you want to remember forever. As much as I respect the tradition, spending this moment alone is something that makes it even more special. You are not being watched by 200 of your friends and family (plus one or two people you have probably never met!), and you can react in the most natural way, without the worry of keeping face, or making sure the ceremony progresses. You get to talk, take each other in, and get all of your nerves out together. And I have to shout out to Shani who said it so well: this is your wedding day, don’t you want to spend as much of the day together as possible? Phil and Jen had a beautiful first look together (with their dog, Mose!) under the alter where they would later exchange their vows. The moment was personal, it was fun, and it was absolutely priceless. Ok, rant over, on to the good stuff!
Thank you again and again Jen and Phil for allowing me to capture your perfect day. I haven’t stopped raving about it since, and I know it truly was the beginning of something special.

Breann and Rob had the most beautiful wedding day. After being together for years and starting their family, this day was just icing on the cake. The girls got ready at Breann’s sister’s farm, where all of the kids hung out and played while the ladies relaxed. I had to laugh when Breann took a break from getting ready to feed her son, Wesley. A mother’s work is never done, am I right? The morning was very calm, and Breann’s easy smile assured me of the fun afternoon to come. The couple exchanged vows to each other and to their family in front of a small group overlooking the St. Clair River, and followed with a stunning reception at the Sarnia Conference Centre. Breann really outdid herself with the decor – beautiful purple floral arrangements, a handmade pallet backdrop and rustic burlap to pull it all together. Their first dance was fun and loving, and the way Rob looked at her throughout the night brought a huge smile to my face more than once!
