YOU GUYS. I cannot even with the grin, the chunk, the big brown eyes. This golden hour session with Eden and her lovely adults was so much fun. Photographing families who are legitimately happy to be in each other presence is so EASY!
Another easy-breezy session down our quiet country road. Go where the light it best, my friends. You don’t need a huge spectacular garden to get an interesting environment and good variety in your images. TRUST. This entire session was shot down the road from my house, on the road and in a tiny little patch of grass where the light is dreamy in the summer. When you’re happy to be around each other and willing to have some fun, the photos will be beautiful and bring you joy no matter what.
Simplicity is often key for family sessions. A blanket in the grass and some fun games and interaction allows for a huge variety in images.

I photograph a lot of people I already know. It’s a small town thing, I guess. But this family had moved to our area from Quebec, and my first time meeting them was when they invited me to do an in home family session with them last summer. They were so laid back, and my favourite part of the experience was knowing they truly valued the lifestyle images just as much as the posed.
They specifically wanted lots of images of them hanging out and doing the things they love like gardening and playing outside. They also included grandparents in the session, which is always a lovely idea!
We spent the morning hanging out, chatting about their editing company and how they came to Chatham-Kent, we played outside, laughed a lot, and I left there with a huge smile on my face. This was one of those sessions where I go home so grateful and excited about what I get to do.
Gorgeous right? I truly hope these images are in family albums for them to look back on for years.
If you are interested in an in home family session like this one, please get in touch! I would love to document all of these little moments for your family.
I have never seen a baby with a bigger smile than this little dude. Just the happiest, easy going guy! Allison & Wayne came out to our place for a sunset mini session and it may have only been 20 minutes, but I’d say it was a success! I could have photographed that smile for hours!
Can you believe this session was completely shot just on my road? Trust your photographer’s people! Light is EVERYTHING!
I don’t do mini sessions too often, but if you are interested in joining my mailing list, that is where all of my mini’s get announced first! And believe me, they go fast! Sign up here!
When Kate’s mom (the sweetest ever) reached out about the possibility of a grad session for her daughter Kate before she headed off to University, I was so excited! Senior sessions are a HUGE thing in the US, but not so much in Canada. I have to say, what a wonderful time of life to celebrate with a photo session!
I had a blast chatting with Kate about her interests and her plans for the future. She was unbelievably kind, and mature, with a spark of whimsy. We explored a local park to focus on a few looks for Kate, and then finished with the whole family riverside. I am so glad Martha reached out for this type of session. Definitely something I hope to do more of in the future!

Thinking of scheduling a Chatham in home newborn session but wondering if it is right for you? “I don’t think my toddler will last for a full one hour in home session” is something I hear quite frequently. But the best part of an in-home session? THEY DON’T HAVE TO!
Kids need a break? Go play for a few minutes!
“I need a snack!” Let’s go grab one!
In home sessions offer so much variety, and I love how much personality toddlers will offer up in their own home. Everyone is comfortable and can take as many breaks as necessary and you get the added bonus of some true lifestyle images.
Now, this was not the case for this family. Big sister was a huge help and was having a great time in front of the camera. This cozy Chatham in home newborn session was an absolute delight! Here is a quick glimpse at our morning together.

We are taking the blog waaayyy back to Fall 2020! I have severely neglected this space for too long, and I have some beautiful sessions to share with you, including Reggie’s outdoor lifestyle newborn session. I know I say this every time, but I really hope to get better at sharing. So many of you trust me with documenting your family, and I wish I had more time to dedicate to social media and blogging. The world deserves to see this love!
For Reggie’s newborn session, we met up at the old Nicholl’s Memorial Forest in Wilkesport (which by the way is always has beautiful sunsets), and walked around with their pups for the evening. Reggie was so much fun, and already being a few months old he was so smiley!
This is session goes to show that newborn sessions can be outdoor, and babies don’t necessarily need to be “newborn”! I can’t speak for this family, but I think taking some time to slowly heal and get to know each other right after birth, and waiting for your newborn session is a great option to reduce stress in those early days.
These pups were so fun and energetic! I love when families include their pets in sessions, and especially in such a perfect location to bring your dog on an adventure.
See what I mean? Reggie’s smile still does it for me almost 2 years later! It might not be your typical in-home newborn session, but who wants typical anyway? I think I might be promoting a outdoor lifestyle newborn session more often! Are you interested in an outdoor family or newborn session? Get in touch today!
I love this family and their chaos. Not only do they always bring the fun, but they also bring the love.
