Let me ask you something. How long have you been hiding behind your product, your service, or your logo – waiting until you feel ready to actually show your face?
Because here’s the thing: ready rarely shows up on its own.
I had the privilege of working with a woman who owns a Chatham bakery recently. She has built a genuinely successful business over the years, and her goodies speak for themselves. But for a long time, she stayed behind the scenes. The cakes got the spotlight. She didn’t.
This year, she decided to change that. She stepped in front of the camera, owned her role as the CEO she truly is, and started sharing her story alongside her work. The result? A broader audience, deeper connection, and a confidence that was honestly just waiting to come out.
She wasn’t a new business owner figuring things out. She had decades of experience. And she still had to take that uncomfortable jump.
That’s the part nobody realizes – when you’re growing and scaling, there is a never a time when it feels comfortable to put yourself out there.

There is this quiet pressure – especially for women – to wait until everything is polished, perfect, and fully figured out before showing up publicly. Like sharing about yourself is somehow self-absorbed. Like you need to earn the right to be seen.
I call that a mental block, and it is one of the most common things holding female entrepreneurs back from growing their businesses. Heck, this is something I am still battling every single day.
Whether you launched your business last month or ten years ago, putting yourself out there is going to feel uncomfortable. The discomfort doesn’t mean you’re not ready. It usually means you’re exactly where growth happens.
Taking messy action when it doesn’t quite feel right? That is often the best step you can take – in your business and honestly in life too.

If you are in your first year of business and you want to be taken seriously, quality imagery matters. Stepping back from the AI-generated headshots and truly investing in yourself sends a message – to your audience and to yourself. It says: I believe in what I’m building.
As a business owner in a small community like Chatham or Sarnia, making those real life in person connections are often the marketing moves that truly pay off. Booking a local photographer, whether it be me or someone else, means connecting with them in person, getting referrals to other professionals in the area, being introduced to new people. In-person networking isn’t dead, and when you’re just starting a business, it can be the difference maker.
Your old photos were fine – for who you were then. But if your offers have shifted, your brand has grown, or you’re pivoting in a new direction, your visuals need to catch up. Most established businesses benefit from updated photos annually or every couple of years, depending on how active their marketing is.
And honestly, are you the same person you were 2 years ago? The same mother? The same business owner? No, likely not. Honour the growth and use it to propel you into the next step as you scale.

Any of these is a clear sign that fresh photos are due.
If your Instagram feed is all product shots and zero you, your audience is missing the most important part of your brand – the person behind it. People connect with people. If you don’t show up, it’s harder for them to trust you.
All this talk about building a personal brand is real – because connection and humanity is what sells more than anything else. People don’t want to buy from AI – they want to buy from real people they can get to know. Sharing pieces of yourself in your marketing – including your real face – is vital in today’s market.
This is a real one. I have seen it happen first-hand: the brand session creates a shift. You walk away with confidence to show up, content that connects you with your audience, and an experience that genuinely celebrates you. That energy carries into your marketing, your pitches, your presence. It’s hard to explain until you feel it yourself.

Brand photography isn’t a vanity purchase. It is a business tool – and an investment in how the world sees you and, maybe more importantly, how you see yourself.
If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will?
Showing up in your brand, putting your face to your name, sharing a little of your story – that is not self-absorption. That is leadership. That is what builds a brand people actually want to support.
The Chatham baker I mentioned? She didn’t change her business. She just finally let people see the person running it. And it changed everything.

The best brand sessions aren’t about looking flawless or having a perfectly curated aesthetic. They’re about capturing the real, human you – the personality behind the business, the story underneath the logo.
You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect workspace. You don’t need to have lost the weight or hit the revenue goal first. You just need to decide that you are worth being seen.
That decision – messy and uncomfortable as it might feel – is the starting point for everything.
If any of this landed for you, I’d love to be the person in your corner when you do.
I work with female entrepreneurs in Sarnia, Chatham-Kent, and surrounding areas to create brand photos that feel like you – not a stock photo version of a business owner, but the real thing. The confidence, the personality, the story you’ve been building.
Let’s connect and talk about your session. Because the best time to book was probably last year. The second best time is now.
And that baker I keep mentioning, get yourself some macarons. You won’t be disappointed!

I get it, there is this constant pressure to show up on social media as business owners. You login and see everyone else is killing it, and you pick up your phone to create a post and you freeze because have no clue what to say. But don’t worry: with one brand session you can get yourself off of that content creation hamster wheel. A brand photography session is not a one-day event, it’s a long-term marketing asset that can fuel your content for months (if not years).

In December of 2025 I met with Daniela and her team in Hamilton, Ontario to update their brand photography. Their team is growing, their reputation is unmatched, and their visuals needed to match the quality of work they are doing in their community. Since December, they have implemented their brand images in the following ways:
And mic drop: they are still repurposing their brand images from our very first session with Daniela 5 YEARS AGO. The investment that Daniela made way back then is still paying dividends. A strategic brand session doesn’t expire, it compounds.

A strategic social media gallery is:
Your gallery lives online 24/7. When inspiration strikes, you can login, download the image you need and hit post. You won’t have to scramble to take an aesthetic image, or panic last minute with your phone camera settings (like at 10pm while watching Heated Rivalry for the 3rd time you are suddenly inspired).
Having your brand photography gallery always in your back pocket makes for consistent social media content, and will support you no matter what you’re sharing.

Before every brand photography session we identify what your content needs are, who you’re speaking to and what is missing. We determine how your images can answer FAQs, tell your story, show your audience what it’s like to work with you, showcase your personality and provide faceless/filler grab and go content.
All of that planning will leave you with a large variety of branded images to be used for reel covers, carousel posts, website content, blog posts, Linked In profile updates and print marketing materials. It’s not random – it’s strategy.

If you have ever sat down to create content and thought:
“I don’t know what to post”
“My content isn’t aesthetic enough”
“I don’t want to look repetitive”
“I’m overwhelmed”
Take a deep breath. I am right here with you! But the key to successful social media marketing is to not overthink it. Your brand photography is there to support your personal brand, not replace it. Mixing in your professional brand images with phone snaps builds authenticity and shows your audience what you’re interested in. Taking the focus off the perfect aesthetic reel cover allows you to relax have fun with filming. Reuse images whenever you want – I promise no one is keeping track except for you.
Keep that brand photography gallery handy and incorporate it when it feels right – remember it’s there to support you, not bog you down.

Together we will identify the content you want and need to share in order to educate and engage with your audience. Content pillars for me look like motherhood, fitness/lifestyle, letting go of perfection, and education. Keeping these content pillars in mind when I am planning my social media posts, writing blogs and emails, and talking online allow me to attract my ideal customers, open pathways for connection and share my personality.

What questions are you getting asked all the time by clients? Write them out, and from there we can determine how to answer them visually, or support your answers with visual cues.
On social media we want images that support both evergreen and spontaneous content. What sorts of posts are you planning this coming season? What are you promoting?
Social media is always top of mind, but think outside the box. Do you write blog posts? What sections on your website need updating? Are you planning any in-person events that will require updated business cards or print materials?

A brand photography session isn’t about one launch. Its about building a library that can support your business with ease.
Your brand photography gallery will

When it comes to running a successful business in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, or anywhere in Southwestern Ontario, first impressions matter. And in today’s digital world, your headshot or profile image is often the very first thing potential clients see.
If that photo is a quick selfie taken in your car or with a heavy Instagram filter, it could be costing you opportunities. As a brand photographer in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia, I’ve seen how professional images can completely transform the way your business is perceived.

Here are 5 ways your selfie might be holding back your business, and how I can help you level up
Your profile photo is part of your brand. A blurry, dimly lit, or casual selfie might unintentionally make you look less credible — even if your work is amazing. Professional brand photography uses great lighting, flattering angles, strategic story telling and a setting that reflects your business personality, helping you look polished and trustworthy from the very first click.
Overly smoothed skin, color changes, and heavy filters might work for fun social posts, but they can feel misleading in a professional setting. When clients meet you on Zoom or in person, they want to feel like they already know you, and that starts with an authentic photo that looks like you.

A selfie often focuses only on your face, missing the chance to tell your brand story. Professional branding photos can show you in action — working with clients, creating your product, or welcoming people into your space. That storytelling helps potential clients imagine what it’s like to work with you.

The internet is flooded with selfies. If you want to stop people mid-scroll, your images need to stand out. Professional photos are thoughtfully composed and edited to grab attention and make people curious about your business. Together we get to be creative and fill your gallery with unique and scroll-stopping images.

A single selfie (or even a few) won’t cover all the content you need for your website, social media, email newsletters, and advertising. A strategic brand photography session in Chatham-Kent or Sarnia gives you a full gallery of on-brand, high-quality images that you can use for months or even years — keeping your online presence consistent and professional.

Your photos are a key part of your marketing strategy. If your current headshot isn’t doing your business justice, it’s time to invest in professional brand photography that helps you stand out, build trust, and connect with your audience.
I offer branding photography sessions in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, and across Southwestern Ontario designed to capture the real you and the heart of your business. 1. How much does brand photography cost in Chatham-Kent or Sarnia?
Brand photography sessions in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia typically start around $1,200 depending on the length of the session, number of locations, and how many final images are included. My full brand sessions include 2–3 hours of shooting, multiple locations, a gallery of 100+ edited images, and video clips you can use for your marketing.
2. What should I wear for a branding session?
The best outfits are the ones that feel like you and represent your brand. Choose clothing in your brand colors, or simple neutrals that won’t distract from your personality. Bring a few options (casual, professional, and something that reflects your lifestyle or work) so we can create variety in your gallery.
3. Where can we do my branding photos in Chatham-Kent or Sarnia?
Brand sessions can happen anywhere that makes sense for your business — your office, home, favorite coffee shop, a co-working space, or even outdoors. I often recommend using 2–3 locations so your final gallery feels dynamic and versatile for your marketing. I often utilize CK Creative Co in Chatham if your typical work space doesn’t work!
4. How many images do I get from a brand photography session?
Most of my clients receive a gallery of 100+ high-resolution images. These include a mix of headshots, lifestyle images, detail shots, and behind-the-scenes photos that you can use across your website, social media, and marketing materials.
5. Why is professional brand photography better than a selfie?
A professional brand photographer understands lighting, composition, and storytelling in a way that a selfie simply can’t capture. Instead of one or two images, you’ll leave with a full gallery that builds trust, helps your business stand out, and gives you consistent content for months.
6. How do I book a branding session with you?
You can contact me here or DM me on Instagram @beevanruymbekephotos. We can book a discovery call, walk you through the planning process, and help you feel confident and prepared for your shoot.

You put in the time to plan, you bought the outfits, you got your make up done. And you’ve just received your final brand gallery—now what?

One of the most common questions I get before a brand session is: “What should I wear?”
And I get it—choosing outfits can feel overwhelming, especially when you want your photos to look polished, professional, and you. The good news? You don’t need a whole new wardrobe to look amazing in your brand photos. You just need to feel confident and comfortable!
Here are a few of my go-to tips to help you feel prepared and show up with confidence on session day:

Your brand session is all about telling the story of you and your business. So let’s start there—what words would you use to describe your brand? Warm? Playful? Polished? Bold?
Let those vibes guide your outfit choices. Think about:
If you’re a wellness coach, for example, you might lean into soft, breathable layers. If you run a high-end service business, a chic blazer might feel more on-brand.

You want to feel like the best version of yourself, not like you’re wearing a costume. Choose clothing that fits well, allows you to move, and makes you feel confident. Avoid anything that needs constant adjusting or that you wouldn’t normally wear.
You’ll be standing, sitting, walking and laughing! Your outfit should work with you, not against you.

Unless we are photographing a specific uniform for your company and employees, I always suggest bringing 2–3 outfit options. Here’s a simple formula:
You can also layer with jackets, scarves, jewelry, or accessories that reflect your brand. Little changes go a long way in making your gallery feel full and versatile.

To keep the focus on you (not your clothes), try to avoid:
Make sure to try on all of your outfits at least a week before the session to ensure they fit well, you can move easily in them, and that they are clean. And one more thing—iron or steam your clothes the night before!

Wardrobe stress is not the vibe we’re going for. If you’re stuck between options or want help styling your looks, I’m happy to guide you during the planning phase. Some clients even bring everything and we decide together before we start shooting.
Brand sessions are about connection and confidence m—not perfection. The most important thing you can wear is something that makes you feel good and represents the heart of your brand.

You’ve just decided to take the HUGE step in booking a brand photography session for your business, and now the planning process begins! All of my brand photography sessions are laid back, intentional and customized to your business. We are going to work together every step of the way to ensure you are comfortable and having fun, and that we continue to honour your brand and goals. Most people get nervous at this point, they are unsure what to do and where to start, but don’t worry – I’m here every step of the way to guide you.

Although the brand sessions are laid back and fun, that doesn’t mean they are unorganized! Staying organized is actually how we keep the session chill. The more we plan ahead of time, the easier it is for you to relax and for me to get creative.
The planning process always starts with a thorough questionnaire. The questionnaire provides me with valuable information about your business, your goals, who your ideal client is, and where you plan to use your images. It gives me a better understanding of what you want and need so we can start creating a detailed shot list.
From here we always create a shared document with inspiration and a mood board. This shared document allows both of us the space to make notes, share ideas and add to the shot list. This shot list will be accessible by both of us during the entire session so we stay on track and make sure to get everything you need!
Depending on the type of work you do, the location of the session may be at your office, on location, in a studio or in your home. I work between Chatham-Kent and Sarnia most frequently, but travel all over Ontario for brand sessions. We will talk in-depth about the options and what works best for the specific type of content you are needing to create. If your workspace isn’t conducive of brand photography session, we can rent a studio like CK Creative Co. in Chatham, or Alt Space in Sarnia, and set up an office or home space. We can get out into nature, stop at a local cafe (Crow City has the best light!), or explore an urban area of your town. The options are endless, and together we will determine which locations best reflect your brand messaging.

From our extensive planning, we will both show up to the session location on time and armed with your shot list, all of the props and wardrobe items we need, samples of your products and an excited attitude!
On the day of the session, from me you can expect a calm, inviting energy. I will provide you with gentle guidance, make you feel at ease and pose you with intention. We will laugh, get a little goofy, and have a ton of fun. Brand photography sessions are a not just about your business – but they are a great opportunity to celebrate YOU!

Throughout the session and various locations we will move through your shot list and ensure we get all of the content you need in the correct settings. Brand sessions always strike a balance between being efficient, while leaving lots of room for organic moments to unfold!
I will always provide light posing and guidance, offer my professional opinion on lighting, give you lots of prompts to keep you comfortable and moving. And don’t worry, if something isn’t working, we will stay flexible and pivot if needed. The beauty of the planning process is that we will be on the same page for the vision of your shoot, and we will both be willing to adjust if needed.
The number one thing I want you to know is that I will always be your cheerleader. It is often very nerve-wracking for adults to get in front of the camera, but I am here to cheer you on the entire time! You are doing something so brave and we are going to have so much fun!

After the session is done, I always send clients a sneak peek with an edit that I think best reflects their brand (not mine!). It is important for me to provide you with images edited in a way that works for your brand, which might be completely different than what you see on my Instagram! You will get an opportunity to review the sneak peek and offer your feedback before I edit the entire gallery.
Final galleries are delivered within 2-4 weeks after the session. Your gallery will include all of the edited images available for digital download in both High-Res (best for printing, large ads, etc) and Web sizing (best for social media, email marketing, websites).

I am so excited that you have taken the leap to invest in your business, in yourself and in this creative process! Or, if you’re new here and haven’t already, contact me today to book a discovery call or book your next branding session.

We all know the power of branding and first impressions. Businesses with a storefront (whether it be real or digital) that is cohesive, professional and speaks to their ideal customers will stand out above their competition. Whether you’re a coach, creative, or service provider, your online presence plays a crucial role in attracting clients. And in today’s digital world, high-quality, professional images from a Chatham-Kent brand photographer are a must-have for building trust and standing out from the competition.
That’s where personal branding photography comes in! As a Chatham-Kent brand photographe, I help local businesses showcase their unique personality, professionalism, and passion through compelling images. In this post, I’ll break down why branding photography is essential for your business, how it can elevate your brand, and where you can take amazing branding photos right here in Chatham-Kent.

Personal branding photography goes beyond standard headshots. It’s about capturing the essence of your business—your personality, work environment, and what makes your brand unique. These images can be used across your website, social media, marketing materials, and even press features to create a consistent and professional look.
Unlike traditional portraits, branding photography tells a story. It showcases who you are, what you do, and how you connect with your audience. Whether you’re a real estate agent, a wellness coach, or a boutique store owner, having cohesive, high-quality photos will strengthen your brand identity.

Investing in professional branding photography can have a significant impact on your business growth. Here’s how:
Builds Trust & Credibility – People are more likely to do business with someone they feel they know. Authentic, high-quality images help create that connection.
Increases Engagement – Posts with professional images get more views than those without. More engagement = more visibility for your brand.
Enhances Your Website & Social Media – Whether it’s your About page, LinkedIn profile, or Instagram feed, cohesive and polished photos help make a strong impression.
Boosts Sales & Client Conversions – Studies show that consumers are more likely to buy from brands with professional, trustworthy imagery.
Sets You Apart from Competitors – A strong visual identity makes your business memorable in a crowded marketplace, and helps communicate your personal story.

To make the most of your branding session, follow these tips:
Relax & Be Yourself – The best branding photos feel natural, so have fun and trust the process!

One of the best things about Chatham-Kent is its variety of beautiful locations for branding photography. Some top spots include:
Downtown Chatham – Perfect for an urban, modern aesthetic with stylish storefronts and brick walls.
A local studio (Studio Sisters, CK Creative Co.) – studio settings offer great neutral backdrops, especially if you don’t have an office space or storefront. CK Creative Co. has a ton of props to help create spaces that look like home or office!
Local Cafés (e.g., Crow City Coffee, Sons of Kent Brewery, Glasstown Brewery) – Great for cozy, approachable, and lifestyle-driven brands.
Your Own Office or Storefront – The most authentic way to show where you work and interact with clients.

If you’re ready to take your small business to the next level, personal branding photography is the perfect investment. With professional, high-quality images, you’ll attract more clients, strengthen your brand identity, and create a lasting impression.
